When you think of the word fashion, you think of expressing who you really are through your physical appearance. Although people express their sense of fashion thats not pleasing to others, their sense of style can bring out a trend. A trend in fashion is a style that majority of people wear during a certain period of time and place. For example, college students, mostly girls, wear big tshirts, nike shorts, and shoes because thats the style in college. People can also take their sense of fashion too far by disrespecting a brand, religion, community, culture,or anything that can bring about fashion. For example, people wear rosaries because they look nice but rosaries are used for praying, mostly in the catholic church. To most catholics thats disrespecting their religion. Whoever thought that mass media, can influence a trend that would corrupt its own company.
Disney is the largest mass media company , founded by Walt and Roy Disney on October 16, 1923, that has theme parks, TV shows, movies, books, websites, animations, theater productions, and other products that brings happiness to people of all ages but mostly children. Disney concepts are mostly PG-13, which means some materials presented may be inappropriate for children under 13 depending on how their parents view it. Disney has a trend for fashion-- you can never be too old to walk around wearing your favorite Disney character. People of hand with fashion, but setting a trend with "the largest mass media company" can make you and break it.
A blogger is someone who creates blog post on a blogging site whether its topics on the news, fashion, trends, or anything the blogger finds interesting. The blog posts receive attention from other bloggers or outsides who are roaming the Internet. Sometimes, a blog post, can go viral onto other sites such as Twitter where it can be shared with another person who group of people. Sometimes bloggers can post a particular topic that brings anger out of their audience, and their audience can expose their work which can give the blogger a bad name. Also what the blogger topic was on can create bigger issues that can lead to not only social media but broadcasting media and print media. This is how fashion, blogging, and a company clashes .
Polyvore.com is a fashion blogging site that post pictures of a variety of trends that are in style. Ployvore.com influences fashion and also gives you links to website to purchase particular items. Recently Polyvore has bloggers posting fashion trends that resemble Disney Characters. These trends are inappropriate because the clothes consist of fitted dresses, fitted jeans, big jewelry, and stilettos. These trends are said to be inappropriate because Disney keeps most of its concepts PG-13 and these trends are for older women that can bring out sex appeal. When these blog posts are discovered more, parents and children can be exposed to them. No child under 13 should see their favorite disney character resemble a hooker or a woman who brings out sex appeal. For example, their is a blog post with a outfit that resembles Puma from the Disney movie "The Lion King". The outfit consist of an brown dress(which is Pumba's skin tone), black still toes (Pumba's feet), and exotic jewelry that brings out the rest of Pumba's features. Theres and issues with this situation because Disney is not afflicted with any of the outfits. These blog posts are a sense of false advertisement because they are promoting Disney in a provocative way. Although young adults and tens might find this trend amazing, its can hurt a company that was apart of their childhood. Parents will not allow their children to watch Disney channels, go to their theme parks, watch their movies, and attend plays because of what someone took something from their childhood and turned it into something provocative. Your childhood and lead you, but you can't take your childhood with you.
